Excellence of Character

The Prophet’s (ﷺ) said: "Make your character excellent for the people" and it has been narrated from Aisha and others regarding the perfect character of the Prophet.

So why is character so important? Leadership is grounded in the leader’s positive psychological qualities and strong ethics. Your actions and the way you speak about them has to prove what you believe. Excellent character serves as a "living symbol" of the leaders vision which then extends it branches elsewhere. If there is a gap between a leader's espoused values and their behavior, the culture of trust will erode and the reality of the individual will then become apparent.

Consider this: If your team only knew your values through your actions, what would they think you believe?
