The Holding Environment

Leaders must provide a holding environment - a space where people can confront difficult conflicts.

Change is essentially a transition through a "neutral zone" of uncertainty and potential loss. A leader’s job is to "bring hearts together," fostering a collaborative climate where people feel safe enough to take risks. It is in these spaces that growth, collaboration, and a true team is born. As leaders, you must create the space and shed the arrogance of your own title within the space for it to flourish into something beautiful.

Unity is not the absence of conflict, but the presence of a shared purpose that transcends individual differences.

Consider this: Is your team building meeting a place of fear or a place of growth?
